HORSE is probably one of the most intimidating casino table games out there on the planet. It takes a real skilled and experienced poker player to be good at it, and nothing breeds success like a little Hills. Especially when you add the HORSE twist to the mix. But, what is HORSE, and how does it differ from standard poker? I’ll go over the basics, and then jump right in with a HORSE game.
What is HORSE?
HORSE is one of the variations of Hold’em, where the order of the cards at the table change with each hand. The way it works is that you are dealt a hand, and then given the option to either hold the cards you were dealt, or to change them. pokerjazz77.site You choose to hold the cards you were dealt, and are dealt a new hand from the top of the deck. The cards that you held are discarded, and are replaced with new cards. When you change your hand, you must draw new cards from the top of the deck. This is why HORSE is also know as “H imported.”
How does this work in a game of poker?
Well, the first thing you have to understand is that when you are holding a poker hand, you have 3 options to choose from: Hand consistencies, Hand ranges, and Hand tendencies. All of these work in HORSE. The only thing that is different about HORSE is that the cards change with each hand. The HORSE card is actually a little bit different than the other poker cards. The HORSE card is a 7- namesake. It is the first card in the round that comes up, and anything from Ace to six can come off the top of the deck. The Ace is high, and the remainder of the cards are low. The cards that are dealt in HORSE are ranked the same as they are in the other poker games, and follows the same rules. If you are playing texas hold em, and are using a 52 card deck, you would have to deal each hand four cards, since there are four suits. In Omaha, you only deal twice, and each hand only has two cards, but both of them are face-down.
The first step in playing HORSE poker is to have a round of betting. Every player takes turns by calling the small blind, folding, and then calling the big blind. This continues around the table until everyone has either called the big blind or folded. At this point, the hand is over, and the dealer puts all the chips from the table into the middle, in what is called a rake. The dealer does this to ensure that the poker game is fair, and to prevent cheating.
Now is the time when the dealer puts out one more card to each player. This is another card that is faced up, and it is called the turn. Again, each player has the option to call, raise, or fold. You can do any of the above, as well, until there is a showdown. Challenge? This is where the game of HORSE poker gets really interesting, and the cards that you can create are very interesting, considering that there are many unexpected twists to this game. Anyway, so now you are betting again. The dealer will put out one more card, because there is still more betting to do. Another round of betting follows, and then one more card is turned face up. During the showdown, there is a round of betting that begins with the player showing the lowest card. If hands are tied, then the player to the left of the dealer acts first. After the betting is complete, all the remaining players show their hands, and the dealer places all the cards in the middle, face up. This is called the flop. The turn is the fourth face-up card, and the river is the fifth face-up card. Each time cards are revealed, more betting takes place. At the showdown, the player with the lowest card and first to act is determined to win.
This is how HORSE poker is played. The first player to the left of the dealer acts first, and has 3 options: call, bet, or fold. The next player to the left of the dealer acts first, and has 2 options: call, bet, or fold. Then the next player to the left of the dealer acts first, and has the option to bet, call, raise/fold, or fold. The last player to the left of the dealer acts first, and has the option to bet, call, raise/fold, or fold. The dealer last player to act is eliminated.
